Understanding what you see after logging in

After a successful registration or login, POX Studio takes you directly to the main Dashboard. This page gives you a real-time snapshot of your business and guides you through the remaining setup steps before you go live.

Setup Warnings

Important

At the top of the dashboard you will see yellow warning banners for any critical items that are not yet configured. These are not errors — they are reminders. Your business can still operate, but these items must be completed before you go fully live.

Taxes not configured

You must set a default tax rule (UAE VAT 5%) before generating receipts and filing tax reports. Without this, receipts will not include VAT.

No POS device paired

A POS device must be paired before cashiers can log in with a PIN and process payments. At least one device must be registered per location.

Invite your team

Add staff accounts and assign roles so each person has the right access level. Cashiers, waiters, and managers each have different permissions.

Complete Setup — Get Your Business Ready

Below the warnings, you will find the Setup Checklist. This card tracks your onboarding progress with a progress bar (e.g. 1/7 done · 14%). Each item links directly to the page where you complete it. The checklist disappears automatically once all items are done.

You can collapse or dismiss the checklist at any time using the ^ and × buttons in the top-right corner of the card. It will reappear on your next login if items are still incomplete.

Main Dashboard Sections

Once setup is complete, the dashboard shows live business data. Below is a map of every section you will see.

The full analytics dashboard (KPI cards, charts, alerts) is only visible to users with the Owner, Admin, Manager, or Accountant role. Cashiers and Waiters see a simplified quick-access screen instead.

KPI Cards (Key Performance Indicators)

Six cards at the top showing today's performance: Revenue, Orders, Average Order Value, Total Customers, Active Reservations, and Kitchen Queue. Each card shows the current value and a percentage change vs. yesterday.

Today's Goals

A progress tracker for your daily revenue, orders, and new customer targets. Click 'Edit Goals' to set custom targets. Goals are saved per device.

Revenue Chart — Last 7 Days

A bar or area chart of daily revenue for the past week. Switch between Bar and Area view using the toggle. Auto-refreshes every 30 seconds.

Quick Actions

Shortcuts to the most-used features: Open Shift, New Sale (POS), Add Product, Add Customer, Reports, Inventory, Busy Times heatmap, and Cost Tracker.

AI Business Insights

An AI-generated summary of today's performance — top-selling items, revenue trends, and smart recommendations. Powered by DeepSeek AI. Click the refresh icon to regenerate.

Live Alerts & Activity

Three live columns updated every 60 seconds: Today's Reservations, Low Stock Alerts (items below 5 units), and Waitlist (walk-in customers waiting for a table).

Recent Orders

A live feed of the latest orders with their status (Open, Completed, Cancelled). Updates automatically every 30 seconds. Click 'Open POS' to start a new sale.

Top Products Today

A ranked list of your best-selling items today by quantity sold, with a revenue figure for each.

What to Do Next

Work through the Setup Checklist from top to bottom. The recommended order is:

  1. 1Business profile — add your VAT number and trade licence.
  2. 2Taxes & receipt — enable UAE VAT 5% and set up your receipt template.
  3. 3Add items/categories — build your menu or product catalogue.
  4. 4Staff & roles — invite your team and assign roles.
  5. 5POS devices — pair your terminal device(s).
  6. 6Go live test — run a test order end-to-end.
